Rene Bermudez, DO, FAAD, FAOCD

Dr. Bermudez grew up in San Francisco, CA before moving to Northeast Ohio. He attended undergraduate school at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. He graduated medical school from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA in 1999. After completing an internship at Doctors Hospital in Massillon,OH, he went on to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at Summa Health System in Akron, OH. He then completed a dermatology residency at Summa Health and graduated in 2005. Dr. Bermudez completed an American Osteopathic Association approved fellowship in Mohs Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology in Tulsa, OK through Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010.

Dr. Bermudez is board certified in Dermatology by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology and received a Certificate of Added Qualification in Mohs Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology. He is currently the chair of the Mohs Committee of the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology where he has served as a board member since 2013. He is currently a fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and the American Academy of Dermatology. He is a member of the American Society of Mohs Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

Dr. Bermudez enjoys giving lectures at National and local Dermatology and Mohs meetings. He enjoys teaching medical students and dermatology residents at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

In his free times, he enjoys cooking, exercising, golfing, reading and spending time with his wife and children.

Blair Harris, DO

Blair Harris, DO

Dr. Blair Harris was born and raised in northern Utah. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Business Management with an emphasis in finance. After working as a financial analyst at Lockheed Martin in southern California for three years, he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor.

Dr. Harris attended medical school at Pacific Northwest University in Yakima, Washington. While in medical school, he was elected to a position in student government and enjoyed serving his fellow students. His leadership position enabled him to institute multiple organizational changes including implementing mental health resources, student support groups, and financial tracking instruments for the student government organization at PNWU.

Dr. Harris developed a love for dermatology while volunteering as a camp counselor at Camp Discovery, a summer camp for children with dermatologic skin conditions. He enjoys all aspects of dermatology, but found special interest in procedural and surgical dermatology, which led him to pursue a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery.

When he’s not performing surgery, you can find Blair spending time with his wife and two daughters, exercising, enjoying the beaches, or doing projects around the house.

Mikél Elizabeth Muse, DO

Dr. Mikél Elizabeth Muse grew up on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland for her undergraduate degree in Public Health Studies. Dr. Muse then worked for several years as an HIV counselor at a homeless shelter and as an medical assistant in a Mohs surgery at Anne Arundel Dermatology in Annapolis, Maryland, where she initially became interested in pursuing a career in dermatology.

She attended medical school at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, SC and Blacksburg, VA. Following medical school, Dr. Muse completed her transitional year of medicine training locally at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, NC. She completed research in dermatology at Wake Forest University with publications focusing on psoriasis, wart, and ulcer treatments. Dr. Muse completed her dermatology residency through Campbell University in Wilmington, NC. Her dermatologic interests include treating skin cancer, procedural dermatology, and volunteering with international health grassroots non-profit organizations in Africa.

Outside of dermatology, she enjoys hiking, painting, exploring Wilmington’s food scene, riding on her dad’s fishing boat, and walking her dog, Kiwi.
